About SangiNepal
We connect travellers and clients with locally verified companions across Nepal — for trekking, coffee, weddings, festivals, business events, and everything in between. Every booking on SangiNepal is strictly non-sexual and built on trust, transparency, and genuine human connection.
Our mission
Nepal is one of the most rewarding travel destinations on earth — but it's also logistically complex. Language barriers, confusing transport, scam-prone tourist traps, and cultural nuances that take years to understand. Most travellers end up either overpaying for licensed guides or going it alone and missing half the experience.
SangiNepal exists to fill the middle ground. Our companions aren't licensed guides (Nepal has a separate licence for that) — they're friendly locals who know their city, speak English, and are happy to share their culture with visitors. They'll take you to the momo place the locals actually eat at, translate that confusing bus schedule, recommend the best time to visit Swayambhu to avoid the crowds, or simply share a cup of milk tea and conversation.
Our verification process
Every companion with a blue verified badge has completed our KYC process:
- Uploaded a government ID (citizenship, passport, or NID)
- Uploaded a selfie holding the ID
- Paid the one-time verification fee (Rs. 500)
- AI face-match score computed between the ID photo and the selfie
- AI-extracted name, DOB, and ID number cross-checked against the companion's stated info
- Admin manually reviews every submission before approving
The blue badge means identity confirmation. It does not guarantee character, safety, or future conduct — clients should always exercise their own judgement when meeting any companion.
Golden Verification
Companions who meet all of the following can subscribe to Golden Verification — a premium tier with a gold tick, video introduction, and boosted visibility:
- Already blue-verified
- Average client rating of 4.85 or higher
- Active Golden Verification subscription (1, 6, or 12 months)
- Not banned or restricted
Payments & escrow
All payments on SangiNepal go through licensed Nepali payment gateways — eSewa, Khalti, FonePay, ConnectIPS, and NepalPay. Your payment is held in escrow at the time of booking and only released to the companion after your booking ends. If anything goes wrong (companion doesn't show up, cancels last-minute, etc.), you can request a refund through the dashboard — our admin team reviews every refund request within 1-2 business days.
Legal & compliance
SangiNepal is operated from Kathmandu, Nepal. We are compliant with the Nepal Privacy Act 2075 (2018), the Muluki Penal Code 2074, and the Human Trafficking Act 2064. Our platform is strictly non-sexual — any companion or client found soliciting sexual services is permanently banned and reported to Nepali authorities.
